Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection ( Metal Gear Solid: HD Edition in Japan) is a HD re-release of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and (in the overseas console versions) Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PlayStation Vita. Instead of consisting of a linear adventure where you occasionally find new weapons and tools as you progress, story and side missions are selected from a menu. The mission structure is designed for a portable game, with multiple short missions chosen from a menu as opposed to the traditional one long mission with multiple objectives, but the game suffered from two problems. The MGS franchise is one of the most important game series of all time with multi-million unit sales globally, and countless awards honouring the vision of Hideo Kojima, a true video game icon.

On August 15, 2011, UK retailer Zavvi secured the exclusive right to sell the Metal Gear Solid: Ultimate HD Collection, exclusively available for the PS3, which was set to see only 4,000 copies manufactured worldwide and would be released on November 25.The motion comics were previously released in Japan as a two-disc DVD set in 2008 titled Metal Gear Solid 2: Bande Dessinée, but were not released in English until their inclusion in this set. Peace Walker deserves to be singled out, since it is the title that benefits most from the HD overhaul.

The newly introduced elements such as it's camera system are not yet perfected and feel cumbersome when compared to modern games. I'm pretty sure Konami confirmed the original MGS theme would actually stay intact, which is good, but I also seem to remember a bunch of modes being removed from MGS3. Performance improves somewhat when using classic Overhead Camera due to limiting render distance in these instances. MGS2, for example: Great game all the way up until the last third, where it suddenly disintegrates into an incoherent mess. Issue 9095: Missions that require specific items in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker trigger a bug where the game doesn't recognize you have equipped the required item.Correction: This dream sequence, which we remember from a play-through of the original game, has apparently been cut from this version. However, the Japanese version had data files for an incomplete level that is implied by the file names to be a variant of Brown Town. The console versions of Peace Walker feature dual analog controls, allowing players to control the camera or their aim with the right stick. You have the 3D camera (with the option of using the original Snake Eater camera)and you can play the original Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake in the menu, however there is no 'Snake vs.

The Metal Gear series has one of the most convoluted storylines in gaming, spanning 50 years and involving a huge cast of characters with competing agendas. Occasional slowdown in areas with an incredibly large amount of textures with alpha effects such as The Pain, of the field of flowers in MGS3.Initially, it was announced that on the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, Metal Gear Solid 2 and Peace Walker would run at 60fps while Metal Gear Solid 3 would run at 30fps. MGS 3 follows Naked Snake, the man who would eventually become the major Metal Gear character Big Boss, as he deals with the betrayal of his mentor and mother figure (and all around incredibly strong female video game character), The Boss, on a mission to sneak through the jungle to stop a Russian Colonel from developing the Shagohod, a kind of precursor to the Metal Gear system around which the series plot revolves.
