When it comes to searching for a stylish hiking boot that’s also practical, it doesn’t get much better than the St. Moritz 200. One of the biggest selling points for the Altitude Lite is how comfortable they are. They use OrthoLite impressions insoles, (hence the “Lite”) and they’re great on almost any terrain. Featuring a suede upper with breathable mesh underlays and a ghillie and rustproof hardware lacing system for a snug and secure fit. The Dri-Tec waterproof membrane will keep feet dry while the lightweight, durable fork shank adds stability. An impact-absorbing midsole and removeable moulded insole delivers long lasting underfoot cushioning comfort. These waterproof walking boots for men also have a Multi-Directional (MDT) rubber outsole for improved grip and durability. From a style and look perspective, first impressions were that the Bandera has a very technical style to it. The upper is constructed using waterproof suede leather and mesh with striped nylon straps running alongside it. The Logo is quite prominent both on the tongue and the bottom rear of the boot as well as a logo mold on the front. You won’t forget your branding in a hurry that is for sure. All of that rests on top of a MDT rugged rubber outsole. This of course leaves room for interpretation but if something busts after only a month or two I think they would be hard pushed not to offer you something. Short of hiking over hot lava or some other mad and extreme conditions, the basics should be expected to hold up for a period under reasonable conditions.

This boot is made with a suede leather and nylon upper. It also has a protective toe bumper and heel guard. The inside of the boot has a waterproof membrane and a padded EVA midsole. When it comes to the outsole, the Logan fairs well compared to other Hi Tec hiking boots. It has a multi-directional traction MDT outsole, so it’s durable and has plenty of grip.

As far as Hi Tec hiking boots go, the OX is one of the best options available. You’ll have a hard time finding a negative review of them, and there’s a reason for that. The mid-sole, the piece between the outsole and the upper, of the boot is constructed using EVA. EVA stands for Ethylene-vinyl acetate. It is a polymer that has good stress and impact resistance properties. Aside from being a stylish boot that can be worn day-to-day, the St. Moritz is very practical. Hi Tec gave it a compression molded insole, which makes it more comfortable over time. It also has a durable rubber outsole, making it great for hitting the trail in winter. They’ve built up an impressive line of hiking boots, shoes, and other footwear, so they have something for just about everyone.Waterproof suede leather and high performance fabric upper provides durability, breathability and comfort There are four color combinations to choose from 1. Brown/Olive/Snow 2. Camo 3. Taupe/Gold 4.Bone/Brown/Mustard. All in all the boot looks pretty good from an aesthetic point of view.

The Logan is a 100% waterproof hiking boot. The shaft measure 4.5″ from the arch, and the upper is made with a combination of waterproof suede and mesh. As long as you don’t go trekking through ankle high water, they’ll keep your feet bone dry. As well as hiking, if you do a bit of fishing, they might work fine as a pair of boots to protect your feet while walking to and from your fishing spots, that sort of thing. If you need a pair of sturdier boots for normal day-to-day use, then the Bandera’s should fit the bill well too. Part of the best-selling Bandera range, these men's waterproof walking boots are a great choice for dog walkers and outdoor lovers. Product Details The outside of the boot is just as impressive as the inside. It has i-Shield water-repellent and stain resistant properties, so they stay looking nice and new for longer.

It lists most of the features I would look for in a hiking boot but I wanted to do a deep dive into each of these key areas to see what I could find in terms of performance, comfort, durability and so on. Comfort

The laces also have cloth lace retainers on the side which, from my experience, can give quite easily. Once a lace breaks through one of those, your hiking boots are pretty much done as you can’t replace them so go easy! The Hi Tec Bandera is a 100% leather and textile mid top hiking boot. It’s not completely waterproof, but it’s close to it. Although that might be a negative to some people, it does allow it to be very breathable. The shaft of the boot measures 5″ from the arch, and it has a 1.5″ heel. Similar to other Hi Tec boots, the Altitude Lite has a multi-directional MDT outsole. From the arch of the boot the shaft measure 5.5 inches, so it has plenty of ankle support. As with a few other Hi Tec boots, the Skamania uses a steel shank for added support and stability.

A great unisex boot for Hi Tec fans is the Skamania. They have both a men’s and a women’s version available. They’re identical in design, with just a few differences in color options and sizing. Inside of the boot is a EVA midsole and a OrthoLite insole, making these boots unbelievably comfortable. They also have a breathable waterproof membrane, so they keep feet dry at all times. For many people, who want a cheap boot for light trail work at the weekend the Bandera’s would probably be perfect, for me they were just painful. As far as the outsole goes, Hi Tec gave the Sierra Tarma their classic multi-directional MDT outsole, which is known for holding up over time. This boot is completely waterproof, and made entirely out of leather and textile. It has a suede and mesh upper with i-Shield waterproof construction to ensure your feet stay nice and dry.
