Williams, Richard (2010). The Blue Moment: Miles Davis's Kind of Blue and the Remaking of Modern Music. Norton. W. W. Norton & Company. ISBN 978-0-393-07663-9. Would become an issue eventually. Wear on the mothers or stampers will depend on how many copies are made from them. I don't know how many copies Classic pressed of the 33 KoB across 15 years and all of their vinyl formulations, but I'd believe it if you said the AP 25,000 exceeds it.

Miles Davis' 'Kind of Blue' Remains a Fixture on Vinyl Albums Chart, 58 Years Later". Yahoo!. September 20, 2016 . Retrieved May 6, 2022. The sound quality of this release is beyond any other copy ever released, and I can’t add anything else that hasn’t already been said by the previous reviewers. I wanted the pressing to be perfection like the first two UHQR’s, but unfortunately perfection isn’t always attainable, hence the four stars. I can’t wait to see what the next UHQR title will be, but count me in.Late in his life, from the electric period on, Davis repeatedly disregarded his earlier work, such as the music of Birth of the Cool or Kind of Blue. In Davis's view, remaining static stylistically was the wrong option. [74] Fisher, Tyler (June 30, 2006). "Miles Davis – Kind of Blue". Sputnikmusic . Lacquer creates the father, which creates mothers, which create stampers. Theoretically, 10 mothers can be made before the father is too worn and thus destroyed, and 10 stampers made from each mother before she too is destroyed. That's 100 stampers, and an audiophile label will never press more than 1000 records per stamper. Pressing every record they possibly could will yield 100,000 LPs. I own many versions of this album. Simply breathtaking from the beginning to the end. The biggest “wow” factor is the dead silent noise floor of the vinyl. You will never see a better sounding version of KOB out there….not even close to this one. Can’t wait for Chad and the folks at AP to put out the 45rpm version of this album in the future. This 33rpm version is already a top 5 in my collection! Well done AP! Keep the UHQR releases coming! Barber, Geoff (October 27, 2004). "1959: A Great Year in Jazz". All About Jazz . Retrieved September 10, 2023.When we're setting up antiskate, we assume we know how hard the vinyl is pulling on the diamond. And it's probably a very reasonable assumption. Using a blank record is an attempt to get around that assumption, but it does not properly account for the diamond geometry. Really happy with this UHQR (number 7700) and surprised it is clearly better than both my Classic 33 and 45! Just sounds beautiful and alive! Well done Chad and Co.!
